StevieBuck I will check my TV tonight to see if it has an optical input port. Thanks so much for your replies guys it really does help alot when good people like yourselves take the time out to actually help another person. If you don't want to use the TV's optical output (or if it doesn't have one) you can still use a scart to phono adaptor like the one Andy posted a link to. Therefore all you need to do is connect an optical cable from the TV to the home cinema system and the audio from the Starview box will be passed on to your home cinema system. When you have the Starview box connected to the TV, the TV will convert the analogue audio signal from that to digital for you and output it over this optical connection. You haven't said what model of TV you have, but it will probably have a digital optical audio output. Regardless, I am not recommending that you buy an analogue to digital convertor. The text on the white adaptor says its an ananlogue to digital convertor, but obviously you should check the full specifications of it on the website where you found the image. Since you are going from scart to phono that is probably why it didn't work. The one in the image you posted looks like a phono to scart adaptor. The scart convertor Andy gave you a link to has a switch that lets you use it as a scart to phono adaptor, or a phono to scart adaptor.
